More Samurai Cavalry

Slowly but surely I am making a dent in the pile of unpainted Samurai, including a rate command figure. Pictured above is Perry Miniatures take on Date Masumane.  I tried to do a stylized version of the Date mon on his armor.  The Sashimono is going to wait until I find a more steady hand, or some adequate transfers.
The cavalry presents a pretty solid mix of figures with a messenger w/ horo, swordsman w/ Sashimono and Spearman with 3-dimensional Sashimono.  I have been painting a lot of dark miniatures of late, so I used a white base with these and focused on using brighter, but no cartoonish colors.  Seems to work out alright.

A massive chunk of 10mm SYW figures are making their way across the table this month, so I thought I would add in some Samurai before I make that long journey.

    1. Thanks, he makes for a great character figure, especially with the missing eye.

    1. The balance of my on-hand Austrians and a few hundred Prussians. I am setting up a tabletop teaser for Mason and hoping to at least try a mass infantry action.

    2. Already in progress. I take a photo at the end of each turn as he continues to forget which commands have moved already.
