Send in the Cavalry

A few more Spanish American war figures must off the table.  In this case I opted to finish off my mounted US Cavalry models.  I had five complete nearly twenty years ago, and never got around to adding a flag to the standard bearer.  I found four primed models in the SAW bin, and thought they would be a good follow up to the Naval Landing party.

Here they are in all their Old Glory...
The original models had suffered a bit from two moves and years of disuse, I decided to rebase the whole lot and update the paint schemes.  This had the added advantage of helping to reduce the obvious difference in tones as the paints I used back then from the Polly-S acrylic line are long dried and gone....
I pack is supposed to contain 10 models, so I will have to keep a look out for the missing trooper.

  1. I like them!
The Spanish - American War, other things aside, played an important role in finally reunifiying the country after the Civil War.

  2. Amazing the relics you keep digging up and putting into the painting queue. Coincidentally, I put three of the Old Glory SAW prone cavalrymen into my queue.

    1. There is all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff hidden in the lead pile. It is sometimes interesting to dredge up the ghosts of projects past.
