Two more units from the Fireforge Foot Sergeants box, and the last of these miniatures for a while. (I have 8 left, but no plan yet.)

Unit 2 |
When GW revamped the Bretonnians back in the day I was annoyed at the loss of Crossbowmen. Turning the army into essentially one of French Heavy Cavalry and Welsh Longbows seemed out of place. I guess they figured that the 13th/14th C. Bretonnians parked next to the 15th/16th C Empire needed all the help they could get. These units may get seconded into my Spanish Impetus army as they lack the same obvious disparity in Uniform. I took advantage of "The Warstores" black Friday sale to get some Templar infantry, so the Knights of Calatrava are due for some reinforcements.
Beautiful troops, colors are really nice!
ReplyDeleteThey look great, and the first thing I thought of when seeing the was Bretonnian ;) Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteGood looking units for Imptevs!
ReplyDeleteI missed the Warstore's Black Friday sale. Next time you see a sale, post it so we all can partake!
There were honestly so many going around that weekend it was hard to decide.
DeleteVery fine looking. I have always liked crossbowmen, myself, although they usually wind up being relati\vely ineffective!
ReplyDeleteEven if ineffective in a given set of rules, I find them useful for 'shaping operations' on the battlefield itself.
