More Spanish Pike

No these are not the same figures posted previously.  Instead I dug out some additional figures from my ECW pile that I thought would fit in with them to make a reasonable Spanish Pike formation for my Charles V army for Impetus.  I still do not know the manufacturer for these, but they do scale well with my Old Glory and Foundry figures.

I will need to add a suitable Banner to these guys, and will when I find a reasonable way to remove the other 'Spaniards' from their individual bases.  Now to add some Sword and Buckler men!

  1. These look marvelous - I really like the morion helmet, and they look particularly nice on these. Nice looking unit for sure. Dean

    1. I like the helmet as well. Although used throughout Europe, pop culture has definitely made it synonymous with the Spanish.

  2. Nice models, and like Dean, I am partial to the morion helmet too. You are really cranking these pikemen out quickly. Really anxious to see this project in person.

    Great job!

  4. Very nice... they a;most look like old Minifigs ECW, but not quite. Maybe Hinchliffe?

You're right about the Morion, Pop Cuilture and SDpanish. They were not reallly seen much in the Great Italian Wars in actual fact, much more so later (Armada era). But, my Renaissance Spaniards wear the later style of dress with the Morion and the white lace ruff collars, etc. A liitle out of their proper time, but the figures (Hinchliffe) look more "Spanish" than Madrid, with a wonderful air of arrogance and superiority about them!

    1. This is a somewhat ad-hoc formation, so I think they will fit in well for now. I will invariably end up painting some 30YW figs down the line to give them some company.
