With all the Oda units rolling off the table, it seemed like a good time to paint the last of my Ikko Ikki models as well. I am nearly to the bottom of the lead pile when it comes to the Perry Samurai range, and I came across another pack of Ikko Ikki handgunners. I opted to try these with the same grey primer/black undercoat as the last set and to try a more simple pattern on some of the tunics.
The new undercoat is working for the tans and reds, but I think the whites are still coming out a little too dirty. Overall though, I think I prefer the flatter colors for this group.

I like the earth tones a lot on this batch and the whites look goods to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I swapped out normal 'flat white' for AP's "Starship Exterior" it has a little more grey which pulls down the brightness

ReplyDeleteLooking good. I concur re: the whites.
Sometimes its just nice to not paint armor and lacing for a little while.
DeleteAgree with the previous comments, great whites...and beautiful minis!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I will keep going in this direction then!
