Do these constitute 'Oldhammer?' is it wrong that I think of them as being too modern? Am I the only one who still thinks of the 90's as being only 10 years ago? |
The standard was cut from the original White Dwarf magazine article (127?), so I have retained it. I went with blue rather than 'canon' red barding as the cooler tones seemed more fitting for the cold mountainous backdrop from the background fiction. (Middenheim is a city built atop a mountain.. or at least it was. GW seems to do a lot of Retconning.) I used a metallic/pearlized blue highlight for the barding that I havn't found a good match for yet. Thus I have four more knights painted now, but the horses are as yet incomplete.
I have three more units of Order knights to complete (Reiksguard, Panther and Blazing Suns) and the lions share of this rehab project is complete. Then its on to all those Bretonnian knights....
Wild looking guys. Are these plastic and what does your son think of your newly found treasures of old?
ReplyDeleteOnly the horses are plastic. And, as noted below, they are not currently minecraft, so are of dubious value to his 7yo mind.
DeleteFormidable looking fellows!
ReplyDeleteThey do look great and a real shame you don't get to use them due to the rules

I understand they changed the rules to a +1 strength, and can strike first in 5th edition, but that was after I had moved on to historical gaming.

ReplyDeleteThey don't seem to be having any trouble holding those hammers in one hand...
ReplyDeleteWhich leaves one hand/arm free for a shield.
You should play a better game...
Yes, I do. I havn't actually played Warhammer Fantasy Battle since 1997. Thus the 'Rehabilitating the Past' moniker
