Confederate Infantry Back on the March

Wrapping up the ACW updates for March, I managed one last unit of GHQ Confederate Infantry on the march (heh, pun not intended.)  I really like the realistic proportions of the GHQ line for this project, though I admit to selecting one of the more premium-priced lines.  Also, the bayonets are very thin and frantically wish to part with their hosts for some reason.

I also opted to go with two flags rather than the traditional one for this regiment because I though it looked better.  Weird I know.

That takes care of the available 10mm  infantry figures on the pile (for now, there is a kickstarter still pending) so next up it is back to 28mm!

  1. Gorgeous! Nice poses and great painting, the overall 'En march' impression is superb!

  2. With so much time off, you risk running through your entire Lead Pile soon. Your 2020 totals will be even more impressive than before.

    1. Less time off, than time at home. (Both jobs are continuing to operate through distance learning) That said, I fear the lead pile is more daunting than a few weeks worth of effort.

    2. I stand corrected! With the number units mustering off your workbench of late, I figured you must be painting full time.

    3. I am converting my traditional commute time to painting time. The goal is 90min a day. Still havent hit it.

  3. Looks good, nothing wrong with having a state flag and a Battle Flag!

  4. Nice work....not rushing to do ACW in 10mm but a nice scale for ACW

    1. I would agree; most of the uniforms are simple, and the basic colors distinguish the sides readily, and yet with enough detail to reward a reasonable basic paint job. I tried ACW in 15 mm twice years ago, and both time abandoned it as I found them almost as much work to paint as 25's but less rewarding. I really think 10 mm hits the sweet spot for this conflict.

    2. Agree completely. I purged my entire 15mm collection for this transition. I ghink it works best for most rank and file armies as you can also hit that sense of mass
