Yet another brace of Samurai warriors leave the painting table to bring glory and honor to their Daimyo! This brings me down to only three warriors and Takeda Shingen left in the painting pile. Perhaps this month will see the pass and review?
I still need to add Mon to their back banners, but alas my decal set is dried and gone. Just for the sake of doing something new, I added a double sashimono to one model to see how it would work out. These three got spears and the other three received Naginata.
The slow process of addition stems from me using leftover paints from other projects to slowly work on a few samurai at a time. I am also working on some landsknecht units, so the variety of color is working out well for both projects. The base coats are done on the last handful of figures as well as some more Koreans. Perhaps I can pull several projects over the finish line by summer's end?
Lovely work :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhile you have run out of clever puns, I have run out of adjectives to describe the work you have been doing on your Samurai. I will re-use one...Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon, only a few more to go.
DeleteGreat looking work.....I just don’t think I have the energy to paint samurai
ReplyDeleteThanks. Batch painting can be daunting, but I always have a few on hand at the painting desk to try out new shades of paint or leftovers on. It also works well if you are trying to paint Landsknecht as they share a generally colorful theme.
DeleteLookin' good; out of puns, *almost* out of Samurai. That's what I call economy of expression! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Of course, it is only a matter of time before I purchase more...
DeleteExcellent work on these Perry Samurai, Jake. I need to return to Sengoku someday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean. I still use your collection as a reference for my own!
