Terrain Updates - Sengoku Era Japan

Improvements are also being made with my Japanese terrain collection.  For the most part this has been about increasing the number of buildings from 4Ground models.  The collection now includes buildings and structures from Plasticraft, Sarissa, and 4Ground.  The 4Ground buildings are by far the best of the bunch as they come with roofing materials, detailed interiors, and exteriors that do not actually require painting.  I recently picked up Sarissa's Mountain Village set, which looks fine, but requires a lot of additional materials to make something as serviceable as any of the 4Ground buildings I have picked up so far.

I also picked up a pack of 100 plastic bamboo trees from Amazon.  This has given me a couple dozen stands for making groves.  I will probably pick up another pack just to use up my leftover bases and allow for some denser terrain.  The advantage of basing them this way is that it is easier to intermix models into the forest on the tabletop.

The scatter terrain is currently limited to some carts and lanterns.  I am still on the look out for some other usable model to add to the collection.   Otherwise here are some general pictures of the major pieces so far:

Once I finish the Sarissa buildings, the next step will be to do some better roofs for the current plasticraft models.  Or maybe just purge them...

    1. I was looking at TT Combat's walls the other day. I like their accessory sets, but the lantern to sake barrel ratio is a little high.

    1. Trying to, storage is the current issue. They don't stack well.

  5. Looks good, Jake! Terrain is almost always worth the investment... but storage can become a problem!
