In keeping with the new terrain goal, I finished a few 4Ground Japanese homes. Two small holder houses and a peasant hut.
I really like the 4Ground models as they look good when fully assembled (no need to paint for my needs) and the interior is actually detailed as well.
Assembly is relatively painless, if time consuming. They also come with some teddy bear fur to do the thatch roofs. A nice touch I have not seen from Sarissa of Plastcraft.
I also picked up a bag of 28mm scale plastic bamboo plants off Amazon that I am using to make some some more scatter terrain. Rebasing my plastic samurai has freed up several flocked 1.5" rounds, so they are getting re-purposed as I complete each unit.

Good looking models!
ReplyDeleteThanks. These are relatively easy as the only part past assembly is the glue/water mix for the roofs. I ordered the Sarissa mountain village. That will take longer as they come in brown only and no parts to trick out the roof.
DeleteBoth the buildings and the bamboo look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, they are both rather easy to knock out rapidly. I just got the Sarissa models yesterday, so I will be able to do some comparisons this month.
DeleteAtmospheric and beautiful buildings!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil
DeleteAre they pre-printed, or did you paint them? If the latter, very nice work indeed!
ReplyDeleteThe 4Ground models come in a tan MDF with the wood accents and cladding cut from a dark brown framing mat. The white portions are done on white card. This is how they look when assembled w/o painting. This really amplifies the 3-D effect and I think they look better than trying to paint this detail on flat models. This is what sets 4ground apart from the other models I have picked up, they acheive results by mixing and layering the parts. The Sarissa models are all done on 3mm MDF and do not have any additional add-ons like the roof materials. It takes longer to assemble the 4-Ground models, but I think they provide the best final product of what I have tried.
