Korean Archers

Inspired by me recent layover in Seoul I finished some additional Perry Korean figures to add to the Imjin war collection last month.  These 12 armored archers constitute the second half of a unit I started last year, and complete the last of the Heavy Infantry missile troops.
I am drawing near the end of this project, as I find I have more than ample figures to fit my project goals.  Between these figures and the garrison troops, I have my Japanese force outnumbered more than two to one.  I have 2 more units of halberdiers, and then a small unit of royal guards to complete   the heavy troops.  Following that it is down to another 12 cavalry.

As for the rest of the collection, the only thing holding me back is a lack of suitable Buddhist monk models to add to my righteous army.  (Perry does some archers, but no hand weapons or crossbows)

    1. Thanks, they will definitely fit in with the Japanese I have been working on.

  2. They look great, Jake. The "overhead" firing position of some of the archers is unusual; I suspect it is taken from period illustrations,. perhaps firing from behind a barrier?

    1. It is actually part of the demonstrated firing style I saw at Suwon Palace. It the bow is held upright and then drawn as it is lowered.
