I decided to see how an extra rank would look with my combined grenadiers first. Overall I like the effect as it does make the unit look more dense from afar.

Next up is trying it with a regular infantry regiment. Stay tuned....
Which method do you prefer? Having grown quite accustomed to the two rank basing with mounted officer, two ranks looks more “natural” to my eye but three looks good. I look me them both.
I am still up in the air. I definitely prefer two ranks with the 18mm and above. For the 10mm fuigs I am more partial to the 3 rank system as it gives the higher figure density I want from the 2-3' viewing level.
I concur, I am liking the look of these regiments. This is a long term project, so the cost is less prohibitive. I get a 40% discount using the old glory, so it increases the per regiment cost from about $4 USD to $6USD. Not too bad considering how they look.
Oh, looking awesome now!

DeleteSheesh, autocorrect butchered my last sentence...
DeleteAs I tried say, I like the look of them both.
It is obviously 50% extra work / cost, but they do look good at 3 ranks.
