Egyptian Light Chariot

I finished the last of my available BTD chariots.  In this case one of the light chariot models.  Strangely, the only difference between BTD's light and heavy chariots are the size of the cabs.  Everything else, to include the riders, is the same.  I tried to differentiate them a little more by using an animal skin pattern rather than solid colors.

I ran out of clear coat, so things are a bit shiny awaiting a resupply.

  1. Nice work! How many chariots in total now? Too bad BTD put their cavalry and chariots on sale but rarely. Have you tried either Foundry or Newline Designs Egyptian chariots? I am certain the BTD horses would dwarf the others but the figures ought to be about the same size. I hear that Newline Designs will be having a sale in November. Sales are usually 25% discount and a rear bargain at that price.

We are coming in ahead of schedule it looks to me.

    1. This makes five total: 3 Heavy, 1 General, 1 Light. I have three others somewhere in the house. I have some Warlord ones en route, but will keep an eye out for the Newline sale.

    2. "Rear" bargain? Sheesh! I should not type replies from the iPad. I meant "real" bargain, of course!

I look forward to seeing the Warlord Games' chariots. With luck, your missing chariots will turn up. Did all of your BTD back orders arrive?

    3. I have the balance of my skirmishers and archers on-hand now. I am aiming to get them done by the end of the month.

  3. The chariot came out very well! I think the main difference between "heavy" and "Light" Egyptian chariots would be the armor of the rider, and the presence or absence of some "barding" on the horses. Don't forget about Old Glory for chariots; even without the Army Card discount they are about $13 a chariot (3 for $39), and you can get the "Buy 5 get 1 free" discount without the Card.

    1. Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on getting a card this year as I was also thinking about starting some 10mm SYW. Looks like the right year for it!

    1. Thanks. I think the runners really help bring out the ancients look. They also help stretch the dollars as you don't need a second chariot on the base.
