Another group of Secret Santa figures are now complete. I had to wait to get some reinforcements from Black Tree Design, but they are now complete. These are all BTD sculpts with a mix of Normans and Crusaders. I opted to use some of the shield decals I had left over to give some variety to an otherwise steel grey unit. These guys will join the Heavy Infantry contingent of my growing Spanish/Crusader horde
They look great. Nice look multi-based
ReplyDeleteYour Secret Santa was very, very good to you this year. The shield transfers look good and the stand of ax-wielding warriors are quite menacing.
ReplyDeleteDid you have a long wait for your BTD resupply? I am STILL waiting for an order from December sent during the Christmas sale! Received an email today saying the package was finally posted. I must have cleaned them out of Trojans.
I only picked up a few packs of Arab infantry and these guys so it only took about 2 weeks.
DeleteShield transfers really make the unit here!
ReplyDeleteI agree, they needed the color
DeleteNeat!
ReplyDeleteAll that chainmail makes the unit looks like a reall heavy hitting one. Scary to be in front of. :)
If you are doing more of these multibases you could test to place some of the miniatures closer together and trying to get a effect of the soldiers taking protection behind his buddies shields. A sort of shieldwall effect. You can still have miniatures with two handed weapons or miniatures swinging swords a little apart from the others to get a nice varied flow on the base.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers/ Jonas
I have considered beefing up the stand. I may need to go to a 12cmx8cm base, as I find that the 6cm depth gets overcrowded rapidly. (Especially with the stats tab on the back.) Thanks for the idea.
DeleteGreat work, a very impressive band of fierce warriors! Cheers!
