28mm Samurai

These are from the Wargames Factory Samurai set.  These are some of the nicest plastic figs they have done from all the packs I have seen.  The Legs interlock around the torso and the arms plug in creating a very stable and robust figure.  The details are still a little shallow which gives them a flatter appearance.  I am not completely sold on these for skirmish gaming, but I would definitely recommend them for someone building whole units for larger scale gaming.

For the Sashimono, I went with a variety of mon from the Warflag Uesegi and Takeda pages.

    1. Thanks. The Pikes are from the Ashigaru kit and the bases or from a Craft Store called "Michael's" here in the states. 20 for $2 with their standard coupon.

    1. I enjoy them as well. It is painting them that is so daunting for me!

  4. They do look great - I don't have any of these from WF, but if I ever start up the period again I'm sure to take a look at them. Actually I use some of the sashimono from WF on my OG guys.

    1. I found them to be a great intro kit to get my feet wet. I just started painting some of the Perry metal figures and they are much easier on the eyes/brush.

  5. Looking good, but reminds me of how little I know of Japanese history!

    1. It is a great time period to use for game fodder. Lots of small armies, constant changes in allegiance. It would be fun to use for a campaign system.

  6. Very nice! Great work on the mons, they're always tricky to do, especially making it look the same on both sides of the sashimono :-)
