TYW - More Imperial Reinforcements

Another brief update. This time a second unit of Imperial Harquebusiers using the Peter Pig sculpts.   I tried to do these entirely using the 'slap chop' painting technique with a mixture of GW Contrast and AP Speed Paints.  The AP Speedpaint metallics work quite well with either a white or black background giving different finishes for armor and swords.  This regiment brings me up to four total for the Imperial side, though I do want to completely replace the Warlord castings at some point.

Supporting my Imperial Cavalry is another unit of commanded shotte.  This time using more of my leftover early renaissance Essex hand gunners. These castings are much 'chunkier' than the cavalry models and do not mix well with either the Peter Pig or Warlord models on the same base.  They do, however, have the advantage of already existing in my Lead Pile, and therefore are a welcome addition to the army.

Thanks for looking.

  1. The cavalry look superb and one of the benefits of a lead pile is they often provide models for the latest project

    1. It always provides a motivational boost to paint something you've had or over 20 years
