3mm US Armor Battalion (M60A3)

I am slowly wrapping up this little diversion, so time to add some tanks from before the age of Abrams.  This is another Summer Verdant MERDC painted group, this time with M60 tanks.  I considered doing the older 5-tank platoons, but decided that the bases looked far too cramped.  Instead, I opted for the post 1986 configuration with 4, 14 tank companies.  As always,  I have left the company command elements off, and focused on just the combat power.  The battalion scout platoon is equipped with M113ACAV carriers, this time without the ATGM carrier M901s in the M113 battalion.  I think the scout platoons were at least equipped with Dragon ATGMs at this time, but I can't find a definitive source.  (I am sure that this conjecture is far from intriguing to most viewers if my Blogger stats are any indicator)

All of my major goals have now been met.  I may do another M113 or M60 battalion to round out a brigade in the future, but no neartime goals for the present.  I plan to wrap up the rest of the engineering assets and some combat aviation, then call it quits for a bit.  Besides, I have a lot of other projects begging for attention.

    1. Thanks. It is kind of a niche era/scale, but after 20+ years as an Armor officer, I need to pay my respects.
