The last of the Austrian Infantry...for now

The last two regiments from the Royal Netherlands brigade have now joined their brethren on the project shelf!  These were painted with the new Grenadier scheme in mind, thus the 77 figure regiment.

The first unit are the Arberg Infantry With their red facings and black gaiters they have the further ability to proxy as about any regiment I need them to in a pinch.  They were at Hochkirch and Kolin, so they are sure to get some table time in the future.

Lastly there is IR9 Los Rios with their distinctive green vests and facings.  They made a nice change of pace from the usual reds and blues and will certainly stand out on the table.

This brings the 'black gaiter brigade' up to strength with four line regiments.  I have depleted my reserve supply of Grenadiers, so there are only two in the correct colors.  I have a total of 16 stands of Grenadiers painted however, so I do not anticipate it being an emergent issue.

These are the last of the Austrian infantry for 2018.  I have two groups of Grenz awaiting some paint as well as couple strips of infantry to bring the last two double-rank units up to strength.  That will bring the total force up to 20 regiments of Musketeers, more than ample for my short term plans.

I still have a great deal of cavalry to go, and have managed to maintain my focus...kinda.  It is hard to give one project the energy it deserves when there is so much other history out there to explore....

  1. Regiments of 77 figures, now that is cool. Los Rios is a favorite of mine too to field for the Austrian cause. Great progress, Jake!

    1. Thanks Matt. The large units are why I opted for Old Glory Infantry

77 figures per regiment... looks great, but more filling...

    1. I think the end product looks better, but I have hard time justifying all the detail work that goes into the middle row.

    2. I know some guys do only the most basic paint job on the interior figures in 6 or 10 mm. I wouldn't be able to do that myself...
