I'm dreaming of a white christmas

With the end of the year drawing near what better time for a pass in review.  First up my Austrian army.

The collection is almost entirely from the Old Glory 10mm line with the exception of two artillery limbers and the howitzers.  All told there are 19 regiments of Foot, 1 Regiment of Grenze, four regiments of Hussars, three of Dragoons and four of Curassier.  Also pictured are twelve batteries of artillery including 1 stand of howitzers and three of 12lb guns.

The central part of the army is currently comprised of 11 regiments all in white.

The left wing include four regiments of Imperial Netherlanders, two regiments of Dragoons and four of Hussars.

On the right I have four regiments of Curassiers, some mounted Grenadiers and of course four regiments of Hungarian infantry.

As mentioned, that brings the infantry to 19 regiments of Musketeers, 1 regiment of Grenz and enough Grenadiers to field 6 combined battalions.

Rounding out the additions for the year I managed to complete two additional regiments of Austrian Curassier.  Unfortunately in my exuberance to get them done, I based them as I have done with all of my Dragoons.  I will need to change them in the near future.

I also managed to complete two more division commanders.  This brings me up to four commanders (Center 1st line, Left Wing, Right Wing, Right wing cavalry) and the army commander.  I still need to complete 1 Lt General and three more generals to complete the set.)

Following up from a previous post I also took the opportunity to his the Grenz with the Windsor and Newton matt spray.

I have managed to make some substantial strides with this project this year, even with my normal distractions.  My goal is to get the rest of the on-hand models knocked out in the 1st quarter of 2019.  So what is left:
  • Lt General  - 3 figs
  • Left Wing Cavalry Command - 2figs
  • 2nd Line Infantry Command - 2figs
  • Reserve Command - 2 figs
  • 2 regiments of Grenz -48 figs each
  • 1 regiment of combined Grenadiers -60 figs
  • 3 Regiments of Curassiers - 16figs each
  • 3 Regiments of Dragoons - 16 figs each
  • 1 regiment of Hussars -12 figs
  • 1 Battery of Howitzers
  • 1 Battery of Heavy Guns
  • 4 Limbers.
  • 3 regiments "upgraded" to 60 musketeers each - 45 figs
  • Hand painted standards for all Dragoon and Curassier regiments.

Overall a fairly good piece of the army is done.  It is the Prussians who need the lions share of the effort to get the forces up to size to play the scenarios that interest my most.

Merry Christmas everyone, thanks for the eyeballs on my collection and words of encouragement throughout the year!  Hopefully I will get the Prussians on parade before the year is out.
