Fusilier-Grenadiers of the Guard

After years of procrastination, I am finally adding some Imperial Guard regiments to my 6mm French Army.  First up are the Fusilier-Grenadiers of the Middle Guard.  These are Adler sculpts which I love for the detail and absolutely loath when it comes to basing.  Peter over at Blunders on the Danube  has some excellent painting guides for doing the various regiments, and I admit to having them printed out next to the table for references as I proceed through the other infantry and cavalry regiments.

  1. Thanks, Jon, and these Fusiliers-Grenadiers look great. Some feel that the Fusiliers may have actually been the best infantry of the Guard, as the men were in the prime of life, compared with the older if very veteran Old Guard units!

    1. There may be some good arguments for that. It turns out that sometimes old veterans don't make the best units as they know more about all the bad things that can happen than the young bucks full of p#$# and vinegar.

  2. I have to agree with you. For Naps and ACW in 6mm, Adler are the absolute best, but they're horrendous when it comes to basing them.

    1. Baccus is starting to match them in infantry, but their cavalry is still hands down the best detailed.
