Jumping Off

Given all the time I have spent on Chain of Command of late, I thought it appropriate to knock out some Jumping Off points for my 20mm collection.  The first four use various pieces of stowage I pulled together from the sizable junk pile of 20mm vehicles I accumulated during my last 20mm WWII phase.   The are a little spares, but I may add to them as I find the right equipment.

The Germans are currently making do with some SHQ airborne supply canisters.  More on those later, I suppose.

Now that the US Airborne are complete, I have selected the next unit for rejuvenation:

Behold my Waffen SS Panzergrenadiers.....

These guys suffer from a general lack of cohesive paint schemes, as well as bases that have not withstood the ravages of time.  Their transports arrived in a deplorable state, and have remained boxed since 1998-9.  Also one of the squads was painted by someone less interested in art and more in gameplay

As such, they will give me an opportunity to practice some more camouflage patterns for a diverse group.  I always liked the look of the ragtag mix of different camouflage smocks intermixed with Feldgrau uniforms.   (That was the primary reason for initially selecting to do an SS rather than Wehrmacht unit.)  They should make an decent opponent for the US Airborne, and my Paras when I get around to the next rejuvenation project.

    1. Yeah I posted about it earlier. I really got into Battleground WWII long ago and collected numerous forces: US Airborne, British Para, Aussies for N. Africa, NA. Italians, some USMC and IJA
